Privacy Policy

PixSorter is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what the app and this website do — and, more often, do not do — with it. The controller is Botat, the developer and provider of PixSorter (botat.org), reachable on Telegram at @botatSupport — our only support and privacy-request channel.

1. The app: offline by design

• No account, no sign-in, no telemetry, no analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs.
• Your photos and videos are never uploaded. Browsing never copies or modifies them; operations act only on the files you explicitly choose.
• What the app keeps stays on your Mac: its index and ratings in a local SQLite database, and a thumbnail cache under ~/Library/Caches/PixSorter. Delete the app and that data with it whenever you like.
• The only network call the app can make is PixSorter → Check for Updates…, and only when you ask for it: one HTTPS GET to pixsorter.botat.org/update-manifest.json. No identifiers are sent beyond what any web request carries.
• Licence keys are verified locally against a public key built into the app. Activation and everyday use send nothing anywhere.

2. This website

• These pages are static. No cookies are set, no analytics or tracking scripts run, and there are no third-party embeds or advertising pixels.
• Our host and its CDN/proxy keep ordinary access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention, and rotate them. The CDN may process request data at the edge under its own privacy policy.

3. Buying a licence

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record and collects what a payment legally requires — your name, email address, payment details and, where tax applies, a billing address. We never see or store your card details. Their handling of that data is described in Dodo Payments’ own privacy policy, and they are the party to contact about payment records and invoices.

From a completed payment we receive a fulfilment notice containing the payment id, the product bought and the buyer’s name and email address, and we use it to issue your licence key.

4. What we store

One record per issued key, in our issuance ledger on our own server: the email address used at purchase, the tier (Pro or Max), the date and time, and the key itself. It exists for three reasons — re-sending a key you lost, answering support questions, and keeping accurate records of what was sold. The file is readable only by the service account that writes it, is never sold, and is never shared except where the law requires it.

We keep the ledger for as long as your licence may need support; write to us and we will delete or anonymise your entry (a key you still use keeps working, we just could no longer re-send it).

5. Your choices

• Access, correction or deletion of the ledger record: message @botatSupport on Telegram — we have no email inbox, so that chat is the way to reach us.
• Payment records and receipts: Dodo Payments, as merchant of record.
• Nothing about your photo library is ours to delete — it never left your Mac.

6. Children, security, changes

PixSorter is not directed at children, and the store is not meant to be used by them. Licence keys are signed so they cannot be forged; our server keeps no customer database beyond the ledger described above. If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
